The mayor of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, said Musk's tunnel drilling company Boring Company had submitted a bid to build an underground transportation system between the city center and the beach.
Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis (Dean Trantalis) tweeted on Tuesday"this may be a really innovative way to reduce traffic congestion," it said. " Other companies have 45 days to submit competitive proposals, he added.
The terms of the tender were not disclosed and Boring Company had no immediate comment.
