Us Commerce Secretary Genna Raimundo (Gina Raimondo) said on Monday that the global semiconductor shortage will continue to put pressure on the market in the coming year.

Raimundo's forecast is more optimistic than some analysts who believe the chip shortage could last until 2023.
Mr Raimundo said the Biden administration was communicating with stakeholders to "encourage the supply chain to be more transparent and accurate."
"We are working to ensure that the demand signals sent by the consumer industry to semiconductor suppliers are accurate, timely and transparent, and really encourage the private sector to work together to do everything possible to deal with short-term crises," she said. "
