Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nishi-ku, Yokohama-shi, Kanagawa-ken; President: Makoto Uchida) participated in the 9th and 10th rounds of the Formula E World Championship Season 10 held in Berlin, and Oliver Rowland finished 3rd in both races and took the podium. The Sascha Fenestraz also showed a strong run and finished 9th in the 9th round, but they retired due to contact with other machines in the 10th round on Sunday.

In this race, which is a double header, Roland started the final from 15th place on Saturday, and although he lost part of his front wing due to contact with other cars along the way, they decided to overtake many times, push up the ranking to 12th place and finish in 3rd place. Similarly, on Sunday, the qualifying round started 16th, but they raised their ranking from the beginning of the race, cut into the battle for the top, and finished in 3rd place. As a result, they scored a total of 30 points in both races.

The Sascha Fenestraz, which had earned points for the past 3 consecutive races, continued to race with the aim of earning points. They started from 16th place in Saturday's race, and together with Roland, they recovered brilliantly even though they had contact with other cars along the way, and achieved 9th place, earning points for 4 consecutive races. In Sunday's race, which started from 17th place, they made many overtakes and caught up smoothly, but during a fierce battle for positions, the rival car came into contact with Sascha's machine, and they were forced to retire.

Based on this weekend's race results, the Nissan Formula E team raised one position to 3rd place in the team rankings. Also, in the drivers' rankings, Roland is in 3rd place and Fenestraz is in 11th place.

The next Formula E race will be held at the Shanghai International Circuit, which will be held for the first time from May 24 to 26.

Tomaso Volpe, general manager of Nissan Formula E and managing director of Nissan Formula E team, spoke as follows.
“Roland has been on the podium 6 times this season, 2 of which he achieved this weekend. The qualifying results were by no means good, but their aggressive strategy paid off in the final, and they gave excellent results. On the other hand, Fenestraz was really disappointing. He had a good run in both races, but both had accidents and the results were not satisfactory. I want to aim for the best results with the remaining 6 races this season.”

Oliver Roland will raise the trophy on the Berlin podium

“Saturday's race was a very intense race where even though they avoided contact, they dropped their position if they didn't attack hard. Also, since we started from the rear, we used too much energy in order to raise the ranking as quickly as possible, so we had trouble managing energy in the second half. It was a really fast and intense race on Sunday too. Everyone was aggressive, and there was a lot of contention for positions, but it was a lot of fun, and I'm happy to be on the podium for the second time this weekend. Being able to finish in 3rd place from the 15th and 16th place starts is a great result, and I hope to maintain my aggressive attitude in the next race.”

Sascha Fenestraz

“We were catching up smoothly on Saturday, but we dropped in the ranking due to contact. Energy management was going well on Sunday, and the car was feeling great, so we were ready to take on the final few weeks. We should have been able to aim for a higher ranking, but I'm very disappointed that this kind of bad luck continued.”
