Skyworks Solutions Insider Ups Holding During Year

Simply Wall St ·  May 10 06:33

Viewing insider transactions for Skyworks Solutions, Inc.'s (NASDAQ:SWKS ) over the last year, we see that insiders were net buyers. This means that a larger number of shares were purchased by insiders in relation to shares sold.

While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Skyworks Solutions

Notably, that recent purchase by Liam Griffin is the biggest insider purchase of Skyworks Solutions shares that we've seen in the last year. That implies that an insider found the current price of US$92.25 per share to be enticing. While their view may have changed since the purchase was made, this does at least suggest they have had confidence in the company's future. If someone buys shares at well below current prices, it's a good sign on balance, but keep in mind they may no longer see value. The good news for Skyworks Solutions share holders is that an insider was buying at near the current price. The only individual insider to buy over the last year was Liam Griffin.

Insider Ownership

I like to look at how many shares insiders own in a company, to help inform my view of how aligned they are with insiders. We usually like to see fairly high levels of insider ownership. Skyworks Solutions insiders own about US$54m worth of shares. That equates to 0.4% of the company. This level of insider ownership is good but just short of being particularly stand-out. It certainly does suggest a reasonable degree of alignment.
