苹果失去了另一位顶级设计师

Apple has lost another top designer

環球市場播報 ·  May 8 13:40

The design team under the leadership of Jony Ive (Jony Ive) of Apple Inc. (Apple Inc.) has now almost completed layoffs. This legendary team helped Apple pioneer the business of music players, smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches.

Duncan Cole is one of Ive's few remaining design colleagues at Apple. According to people familiar with the matter, he has informed Apple that he will leave his job soon because the move has not been made public. Kerr joined Apple in 1999 and played an important role in the development of several generations of iPhones, iPads, and Macs.

A Cupertino, California-based Apple spokesperson declined to comment.

With Jobs' departure, Ivey's team almost completely disbanded; the team consists of around 24 closely related employees. In the years since Ivy left in 2019, top designers such as Jody Acana, Joe Tan, Anthony Ashcroft, Andre Williams, Jeremy Batalou, and Eugene Wang left. Over the past year, the brain drain has continued, and key members like Bart Andre, Colin Burns, Aoki Shuta, and Peter Russell-Clark have left.

Evans Hankey (Evans Hankey) left Apple last year to replace Ivey as Apple's industrial design director. Alan Dye (Alan Dye), the company's head of interface design, is still in office, but his team has also lost several members in recent months. The only remaining industrial designers from the Ivy era include Richard Howarth, Molly Anderson, and Ben Shaffer.

A large portion of the Apple team has moved to Ivy's new design company, LoveFrom. The company is partnering with Airbnb Inc. Brand cooperation projects such as Ferrari NV (Ferrari NV), and Moncler SpA. Ivey has stayed away from the Apple spotlight in recent years, but in 2022 she participated in a joint interview with CEOs Tim Cook and Lauren Powell Jobs.

For the past year and a half, Apple's team of designers reported directly to Chief Operating Officer Jeff Williams. This annoyed some artists and sculptors, who are used to working closely with managers in the design world. According to reports at the time, Apple was unable to directly find someone to replace Hankey due to the loss of talent as an Apple designer after Ivy left his job.
