Insider Spends US$76k Buying More Shares In Lantronix

Simply Wall St ·  May 8 06:13

Even if it's not a huge purchase, we think it was good to see that Jason Cohenour, the Interim Independent Chairman of the Board of Lantronix, Inc. (NASDAQ:LTRX) recently shelled out US$76k to buy stock, at US$3.63 per share. While that isn't the hugest buy, it actually boosted their shareholding by 163%, which is good to see.

Lantronix Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

The President Saleel Awsare made the biggest insider purchase in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for US$78k worth of shares at a price of US$3.91 each. That means that an insider was happy to buy shares at above the current price of US$3.70. While their view may have changed since the purchase was made, this does at least suggest they have had confidence in the company's future. To us, it's very important to consider the price insiders pay for shares. As a general rule, we feel more positive about a stock if insiders have bought shares at above current prices, because that suggests they viewed the stock as good value, even at a higher price.

While Lantronix insiders bought shares during the last year, they didn't sell. The chart below shows insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year. If you click on the chart, you can see all the individual transactions, including the share price, individual, and the date!
