Xpeng Shows NGP's Performance on German Highway in Video
Xpeng's smart driving software, which is trained to handle domestic traffic conditions in China, is an exceptionally smooth experience overseas, said the EV maker's CEO.

He Xiaopeng, chairman and CEO of Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV), showed in a video how the company's NGP (Navigation Guided Pilot) feature performs on a German highway, as the company aims to start developing globally usable assisted driving features this year.

"(Xpeng's) smart driving team shared a video about testing NGP on the highway in Germany, and it's going well," Mr. He said in sharing the video on Weibo today.

Xpeng's XNGP (Xpeng Navigation Guided Pilot) has strong generalization capabilities and is is almost straightforward to use in Europe, he said, citing feedback from the company's German team.

The AI chauffeur function in China and XNGP's coverage of Chinese city road is steadily progressing, with XNGP's available safe roadways in cities growing at a rate of nearly 100,000 kilometers per month, according to Mr. He.

Xpeng is one of the car companies with the strongest assisted driving capabilities in China, and hopes to have the feature available overseas starting this year.

Xpeng will push for global development of XNGP this year and next, with development of a globally usable highway NGP feature starting in 2024 and a globally usable XNGP in 2025, Mr. He said on January 30.
