Lithium Universe (ASX:LU7) has appointed John Sobolewski as the company’s new Chief Financial Officer.

Mr Sobolewski has played a role in the feasibility study processes, funding, construction, and operations phases of the company’s Mt Cattlin Spodumene mine and Jiangsu lithium carbonate refinery.

The company announced that his experience in financial and debt modelling would be critical for the company to complete definitive feasibility studies to advance its exploration efforts across both projects.

“I am thrilled to join a team that has unsurpassed experience in an industry that is critical to the world’s energy transition,” Mr Sobolewski said.

“With my skills and experience, I endeavour to play a key role in delivering the Company’s compelling Québec Lithium Processing Hub strategy,” he said.

Mr Sobolewski is a Chartered Accountant and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

His previous roles include Managing Director and CEO, CFO and Company Secretary for Mintrex, Galaxy Resources, Vital Metals (ASX:VML), Financial Controller and Company Secretary with Croesus Mining, and Group Accountant and Company Secretary with Titan Resources.

Commenting on the appointment, Chair Iggy Tan said Mr Sobolewski was a good “asset” to the company’s “lithium dream team”.

“One of his first tasks will be to commence the project financial models for both proposed projects as part of the Québec Lithium Processing Hub,” he said.

LU7 shares last traded at 2.4 cents.
