KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 4): Aeon Credit Service (M) Bhd on Monday issued a senior sukuk with a nominal amount of RM250 million, having a tenure of five years.

This is the third tranche of the financial service provider’s sukuk wakalah programme of RM2 billion in nominal value.

Proceeds from the senior sukuk issuance will be used for financing disbursements to customers, and refinancing any existing loans of the company or any sukuk, the group said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

The first trance of the sukuk programe comprising senior sukuk with a nominal amount of RM500 million was issued on Feb 19, 2020, while the second tranche comprising a subordinated sukuk issuance for an amount of RM200 million was issued on March 12, 2020.

Shares in Aeon Credit closed 28 sen or 2.48% higher at RM11.58 on Monday, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM2.96 billion.
