Augustus Minerals (AUG) has received the results of its first reconnaissance field survey conducted over several targets at its Ti Tree lithium project in Western Australia.

Multiple rock samples of copper grading from 0.6 to 2.2 per cent from AUG’s Crawford area have extended the known outcropping mineralisation along Copper Ridge by 117 per cent to 1300 meters of strike length.

The company reported outcropping mineralisation from several key prospect areas, which were mapped and collected.

The mineralisation observed along Augustus’ Ti-Tree shear has previously received zero modern exploration, and the information obtained from surface sampling has been used to develop and guide AUG’s upcoming drilling program.

Total rare earth oxides (TREO) and molybdenum at Crawford South returned elevated grades of 2077 parts per million (ppm) TREO and 1786 ppm molybdenum.

Meanwhile, at its Bentley ironstone prospect, the company uncovered TREO grades up to 1283 ppm TREO from rock chips, along with high anomalous grades of scandium at its Mac’s Well, returning 104 ppm scandium in ironstone.

“Augustus has moved quickly to develop its on-the-ground exploration plan, and these first results add further weight to our initial thoughts on a range of the best targets and prospects that Augustus plans to drill over the coming months,” AUG Managing Director Andrew Reid.

“Our base metals targets are shaping up quite nicely now and are likely to be the first to be drilled once the Heritage surveys are completed, and the rare earth assays show real promise and will be subjected to more evaluation in the field this week.”

Today also marks the commencement of the Aboriginal Heritage Survey work, ahead of a fresh reverse circulation drill program to be used to test anomalies across AUG’s tenement package.

AUG shares were down 2.22 per cent, trading at 22 cents at 11:34 am AEST.
