The materials sector pushed ahead of the pack on Wednesday, rising more than a per cent this morning.

Buxton Resources (BUX) made gains after reporting its recent drilling at its Graphite Bull graphite project in WA’s Gascoyne region over-delivered on grade, thickness, and additional strike.

The program involved five wide-spaced reverse circulation holes that returned graphite hits of 33 metres at 18.7 per cent total graphitic carbon.

Buxton shares have been trading up 23.5 per cent at 21 cents.

Barton Gold (BGD) has mapped a new zone at its South Australian Tunkilia gold project.

The company’s latest drilling program highlighted a 50-to-100-metre-wide zone of gold, extending the mineralisation at the Area 51 prospect to more than 700 metres of strike.

Barton Managing Director Alex Scanlon said indications of another gold system in this area underscored the potential for further “significant” discoveries. The company’s shares were trading at 23 cents on Wednesday afternoon.

Green Technology Metals (GT1) has confirmed a maiden mineral resource estimate of 4.5 million tonnes at 1.01 per cent lithium and 110 parts per million tantalum at its Root lithium project in Ontario.

The resource covers a 1.5-kilometre strike length at the McCombe prospect in the western region of the project area. Company shares were last trading at 67 cents.

Meanwhile, Winsome Resources (WR1) is set to secure the Tilly lithium project in Canada.

The staged cash and scrip deal equates to $530,000 plus a commitment to an exploration spend.

The purchase will increase Winsome’s landholding within the James Bay region to more than 850 square kilometres. Company shares were last trading at $1.40.

And finally, medical device manufacturer Nuheara (NUH) has fallen more than 6 per cent.

This comes despite the company extending the commercial availability of its HP Hearing Pro self-fitting, over-the-counter hearing aid through CVS Health’s website.

From today, the device will be made available through CVS Health online in the United States for a network of more than 9600 retail store customers.

The company was last trading at 15 cents.
