Strong Week for Monday.com (NASDAQ:MNDY) Shareholders Doesn't Alleviate Pain of One-year Loss
Strong Week for Monday.com (NASDAQ:MNDY) Shareholders Doesn't Alleviate Pain of One-year Loss
While it may not be enough for some shareholders, we think it is good to see the monday.com Ltd. (NASDAQ:MNDY) share price up 12% in a single quarter. But that doesn't change the reality of under-performance over the last twelve months. The cold reality is that the stock has dropped 35% in one year, under-performing the market.
Although the past week has been more reassuring for shareholders, they're still in the red over the last year, so let's see if the underlying business has been responsible for the decline.
See our latest analysis for monday.com
Because monday.com made a loss in the last twelve months, we think the market is probably more focussed on revenue and revenue growth, at least for now. When a company doesn't make profits, we'd generally expect to see good revenue growth. That's because fast revenue growth can be easily extrapolated to forecast profits, often of considerable size.
In the last year monday.com saw its revenue grow by 77%. That's a strong result which is better than most other loss making companies. The share price drop of 35% over twelve months would be considered disappointing by many, so you might argue the company is getting little credit for its impressive revenue growth. Prima facie, revenue growth like that should be a good thing, so it's worth checking whether losses have stabilized. Our monkey brains haven't evolved to think exponentially, so humans do tend to underestimate companies that have exponential growth.
You can see how earnings and revenue have changed over time in the image below (click on the chart to see the exact values).

A Different Perspective
monday.com shareholders are down 35% for the year, even worse than the market loss of 6.9%. There's no doubt that's a disappointment, but the stock may well have fared better in a stronger market. Putting aside the last twelve months, it's good to see the share price has rebounded by 12%, in the last ninety days. This could just be a bounce because the selling was too aggressive, but fingers crossed it's the start of a new trend. It's always interesting to track share price performance over the longer term. But to understand monday.com better, we need to consider many other factors. Like risks, for instance. Every company has them, and we've spotted 3 warning signs for monday.com (of which 1 doesn't sit too well with us!) you should know about.

请参阅我们对monday.com的最新分析
