OD6 Metals (OD6) has kicked off the first round of aircore drilling at its Grass Patch project in Western Australia.
The 95-hole program will test the presence of elevated rare earth elements in the ground water, identified through regional soil anomalies and water bore analyses in the area.
The company has refined its drill targets using airborne electromagnetic survey data which highlighted prospective clay basin areas.
OD6 said this initial round of drilling was designed to test regional anomalies with broad spacing to provide an initial insight of where to focus future drilling programs based on grade, depth and thickness of mineralisation.
Drilling is anticipated to wrap up by early February with assay results expected at the end of this quarter.
The work at Grass Patch, north of Esperance, follows on from drilling at the company’s nearby Splinter Rock project at the end of 2022 which returned up to 2162 parts per million total rare earth oxides.
