Communications services companies fell as traders hedged their bets on the outlook for consolidation in the sector.

Canadian cable company Rogers Communications withdrew its court challenge of a boardroom makeover by Ed Rogers that has divided the board, pitted him against his family and jeopardized a $16 billion takeover from rival Shaw Communications.
