Saturday - September 25

  • 12:00 p.m. Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) holds a global fan event to showcase 70 series, films and specials. Analysts are circling the event as a potential share price catalyst for next week as the content slate upside is discussed.

Monday - September 27

  • Volatility watch - Options trading spiked higher this week on Spire Global (NYSE:SPIR), Marin Software (NASDAQ:MRIN) and WiMi Hologram Cloud (NASDAQ:WIMI), while Greenidge Generation Holdings (NASDAQ:GREE) and Lordstown Motors (NASDAQ:RIDE) still trade with a high level of short interest. Stocks generating more interest on Reddit's WallStreetBets include The Metals Company (NASDAQ:TMC) and SoFi Technologies (NASDAQ:SOFI) .

  • All week - Conferences in the week ahead include the Cantor Virtual Global Healthcare Conference, the BTIG Inaugural Cannabis Conference, the Bank of America Future Car Conference and The MedTech Conference.

  • All week - It will be another busy week of electric truck developments with Sequoia-backed Embark Trucks continuing with its autonomous demonstrations, self-driving tech company Aurora (NASDAQ:RTPY) set to host analysts in Dallas on September 28 and TuSimple (NASDAQ:TSP) demonstrating its next-gen vehicle in Tuscon, Arizona on September 30.

  • All day - Recode's Code Conference is one of the bigger tech conferences of the year. The list of notable speakers for this year's event includes Salesforce's (NYSE:CRM) Marc Benioff, WarnerMedia (NYSE:T) CEO Jason Kilar, Waymo (NASDAQ:GOOG) Co-CEO Tekedra Mawakana, Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) CEO Satya Nadella, Netflix (NFLX) Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos and AMD (NASDAQ:AMD) CEO Lisa Su. Tesla and SpaceX (SPACE) Chief (NASDAQ:TSLA) Elon Musk is also due to give a talk, although the timing is not known at the time of publication.

  • All day - TotalEnergies (NYSE:TTE) holds a two-day investor event with updates on the company's energy outlook and strategy plan anticipated. Analysts are noting the increased pressure on TTE to highlight the renewable business through a minority listing if the company to help atttract ESG investors and accelerate the re-rating of its +7% dividend yield. Last year, shares of TotalEnergies rallied on the day of the event after the energy giant updated on its capital spending plans and cost reduction efforts.

  • All day - The analyst quiet period ends on DoubleDown Interactive (NASDAQ:DDI) to free up analysts to post ratings.

  • 4:30 p.m. Micron Technology (NASDAQ:MU) holds its earnings conference call. Several analysts have cut price targets on MU into the report on concerns over DRAM pricing. Options trading implies a swing of 6% for shares following the release. Watch Silicon Motion (NASDAQ:SIMO) and American Superconductor (NASDAQ:AMSC) with both companies deriving more than 20% of revenue from Micron and moving in tandem with it on earnings day 75% of the time.

Tuesday - September 28

  • All day - Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) holds it annual Gaming Developer Day. Bank of America thinks the event could be a share price catalyst with potential updates from the social media giant on gaming platform innovations and products anticipated. Last year, Facebook rose almost 5% in the three trading sessions following the same gaming developer event.

  • All day - OPEC posts its World Oil Outlook with data on upstream, downstream, supply, demand and projections. The release of the report has impacted crude oil prices (CL1:COM) in the past.

  • 8:30 a.m. O-I Glass (NYSE:OI) hosts its 2021 Virtual Investor Day. Execs plan to discuss the company's ongoing transformation, MAGMA and future targets and milestones.

  • 10:00 a.m. TransAlta Corporation (NYSE:TAC) holds a Virtual Investor Day to provide investors an in-depth review of the company's strategic plan and priorities, long-term growth and financial outlook.

  • 12:00 p.m. AdvanSix (NYSE:ASIX) conducts an Investor Day event to highlight the company's strategies to deliver strong and sustainable shareholder returns.

  • 10:00 a.m. Wave Life Sciences Ltd. (NASDAQ:WVE) holds a webcast to highlight its ADAR-mediated RNA editing capability, preclinical neurology portfolio and PRISMTM platform advancements.

  • 10:00 a.m. Hain Celestial Group (NASDAQ:HAIN) hosts an Investor Day event. Shares of Hain Celestial rallied more than 10% in the two sessions following its last investor day event.

  • 10:00 a.m. Dana Incorporated (NYSE:DAN) presents at its Capital Markets Day. The event is promised to provide further insight into Dana's perspective of how electrified mobility will evolve in the coming years, and how the company's innovation and global presence will help to drive outsized growth and financial returns for shareholders.

  • 11:00 a.m. Taboola (NASDAQ:TBLA) is in the spotlight with a Connexity-Focused Information Session to discuss its e-commerce strategy and financial expectations for the combined companies.

  • 12:00 p.m. Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) holds its highly-anticipated fall hardware event. The media invite teases announcements covering the tech giant's latest devices, features and services without doling many details. In prior years, shares of Amazon have moved higher during the product event after reveals on Echo speakers, Eero routers, Ring cameras and updates to Alexa's software (read a detailed preview).

  • 3:00 p.m. Pure Storage (NYSE:PSTG) conducts a hybrid Financial Analyst Day with presentations by the management team on the company's vision, strategy and financial outlook.

  • 4:05 p.m. Affirm Holdings (NASDAQ:AFRM) holds an investor forum in a first-of-its-kind event for the company since it went public.

Wednesday - September 29

  • All day - The FDA action date arrives on (NASDAQ:MIRM) Maralixabat for ALGS. Evercore ISI tips that an approval is likely due to the positive data generated by maralixibat. Any share price reaction could be tied to if the label has any dosing restrictions and the annual price set.

  • All day - Vaxart Inc. (NASDAQ:VXRT) is one of the notable companies scheduled to provide an update at ID Week 2021, which runs through October 3.

  • All day - Editas Medicine (NASDAQ:EDIT), REGENXBIO (NASDAQ:RGNX), Clearside Biomedical (NASDAQ:CLSD), Lineage Cell Therapeutics (NYSE:LCTX) are all scheduled to present data at the Retina Society Annual Scientific Meeting that runs over the next four days.

Thursday - September 30

  • 8:30 a.m. Xylem (NYSE:XYL) holds its Investor Day event in a virtual format. Shares of Xylem fell about 1.7% the last time the company held an investor day.

  • 10:00 a.m. New York Federal Reserve Bank President John Williams gives the opening remarks at a webinar titled "Implications of Federal Reserve Actions in Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic." Fedspeak is being watched as close as ever for nuances about tapering timing.

  • 11:00 a.m. Intuit (NASDAQ:INTU) hosts its virtual annual Investor Day. Execs plan to discuss Intuit's strategy for fiscal year 2022.

  • 1:05 p.m. St. Louis Federal Reserve Bank President James Bullard speaks via Zoom at the Aspen Institute.

Friday - October 1

  • All day - The first day of the month will see Macau gross gaming revenue numbers reported in what could be another blow to casino stocks like Melco Resorts & Entertainment (NASDAQ:MLCO), Wynn Resorts (NASDAQ:WYNN) and Las Vegas Sands (NYSE:LVS) just ahead of Golden Week. Also, look for updates from Chinese automakers Nio (NYSE:NIO), Li Auto (NASDAQ:LI) and XPeng (NYSE:XPEV) on September deliveries, while Tesla (TSLA) is on watch to deliver its highly-anticipated quarterly deliveries report.

  • 8:30 a.m. - Keurig Dr Pepper (NASDAQ:KDP) hosts a virtual Investor Day to discuss the company's strategic outlook and growth expectations. Analysts see the potential for some share price movement with the company set to move past the three-year, post-merger forecast.
