Alipay Macao Users Can Make Payment to Over 25K HK Offline Merchants in 1st Phase

Ant Bank (Macao) announced today that its Alipay Macao has expanded the cross-border payment service to allow Macanese users to shop at Hong Kong merchants' stores with immediate effect.

Accordingly, intermediate or advanced users can pay Hong Kong merchants with "Alipay+" or "Alipay Macao" labels in Macau patacas without handling fees.

The payment service will be available at over 25,000 Hong Kong merchants in the first stage, gradually extending its reach to more businesses going ahead, said Venetia Lee, General Manager of Alipay Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macao.
