I am a careful beginner investor and I've got to admit, it is quite a complicated question. It depends on whether a short or long term play, long or short position.
For long term long positions, I prefer the stock to have a nice looking graph, similar to $SPDR S&P 500 ETF(SPY.US)$ or $Nasdaq(NDAQ.US)$. In the short term, you won't make alot, but over the long term, you'll have more green days than red days that add up to good gains. A nice looking graph is the first criteria, but price can be deceiving. I also look at net income (has to be consistently positive) and market cap (has to be big). This tells me that the company is consistently stable and has a healthy cash flow.
I won't talk about long term short positions because I think it's very rare for anyone to do that and I'm not Burry.
But I do play in short term short positions. I look for stocks with explosive growth (20%++) as I believe that such explosive growth cannot sustain itself, and there is a high chance of pullback in the short term. I especially like stocks that are around $100 such as $Affirm Holdings(AFRM.US)$, as there is a lot of room for it to drop and for me to profit. The stock must also also have options trading. I do not fancy getting short squeezed or being trapped by a bad short position, so I prefer to buy puts for my short position. Furthermore, stocks around the $100 range have affordable puts, so if I were to make a bad bet against the stock, it wouldn't be a big loss.
Happy investing, everyone! Remember to stay diversified.

Im not sure i can even fit all the metrics that i use without making it too boring but ill try. First is scanning the news for any clues of where the market is leaning towards, like oil prices, government program announcements, strength of the dollar, or mergers and acquisitions. After that I look up analyst upgrades to buy and strong buy and initiated coverage. I focus on small to midcaps under 30.00 since they will have the biggest increases percentage wise. Last is to look up insider buying, but you only want insider stocks that have good average volume and stay away from the financial companies(banks and trust). After all this, the list made will be from 10-20 stocks. Separating them by the size of their float, option contracts (length, amount available, amount purchased),and 20ma and 50ma. Checking news stories for them the last 30-90 days plus SEC filings and when ER was or if its coming up. To further break them down also figure how close they have been to their average volume the last 3 months. Doing all this should give you a top 5 or top 3 to choose from for the following days investments. But the most success i have had profiting off of stocks has been from watching stocks move in premarket and during market hours and jumping into them before they take off. On the downside that has also been how i have had the highest percentage losses, that and holding thru ER. So the safest and most profitable overall will always be the stocks that have been researched extensively and held the longest. That is the only way to succeed in the market. Daytrading and jumping from stock to stock should only be used for entertainment purposes because they have a 99% breakeven or loss outcome. My profits come from the tried and true investor method. The rest is just for a daily challenge with a lot of fun and excitement added in. Helps keep my mind sharp. Now you know all my secrets to investing so i wont be needed anymore.

    Beginning Indicators
Trading involves technical analysis, reading the charts and what each candlestick means and the shapes and indicators involved.
So here I just wanted to provide some of the indicators that can help initial readings and possibly go into more complex indicators:
RSI (Relative Strength Index): Relative Strength Index measures whether a stock is being overbought or oversold. Lower RSI indicates people have sold more and that you could be looking for an increase in buying. Two points to watch are when RSI is close to 70, meaning it’s moving towards overbought, and 30, meaning it’s oversold.
MACD (Moving Average Convergence/Divergence): MACD helps show the price movement, moving average on a shorter period versus a longer The short EMA will always meet the long EMA but it helps determine possible uptrends or downtrends when the blue line crosses the red line.
Crossing downward is bearish and upward is the opposite. MACD can contain gold and death crosses. Gold Cross has the blue line shoot up through the red line, creating a cross and a bullish indicator. Death Cross has the blue line drop through the red line, a bearish signal.
MFI (Money Flow Index): Money Flow Index is similar to RSI in that it can also help determine overbought or oversold areas with usual indicators at 80 and 20, similar indications to RSI.
Using MFI with RSI can help spot dive...

    1. Be Greedy When Others are Fearful
I believe most of the investors heard this famous quote from Warren Buffett before, he said: “Be fearful when others are greedy and Be greedy when others are fearful.” But, how many of us would actually able to execute this? What most of us practice is “Be fearful when others are fearful and be greedy when others are greedy.” And the result is, we are nothing compared to Warren Buffett, which mean his success in stock investing had proven his quote. ...

    Daily Poll
$Apple(AAPL.US)$ and $ $Affirm Holdings(AFRM.US)$ 's PayBright are planning to launch a “buy now, pay later” program for Apple device purchases in Canada, stepping up the iPhone maker’s ambitions to offer more financial services.
Consumers worldwide became increasingly attracted by the BNPL services because of the economic disruptions of the COVID-19 health crisis. Last year, companies in the BNPL (or “buy now, pay later”) space facilitated upwards of $20 billion in U.S. transactions, and some have concluded that the growing appeal of BNPL is generational.
In tandem, payment companies have increased their push into traditional banking over recent years, which investors have rewarded with further share gains....
