My most satisfying trade so far this year wasn’t the biggest win — it was the one where I followed my plan perfectly.
I sold options on volatility instead of chasing momentum, collected premium, managed risk early, and stayed disciplined when the market got noisy. The result? Consistent income and peace of mind — both matter more than a single lucky trade.

I started learning options mainly because I wanted more control over my trading outcomes—not just relying on price going up. Over the past months, selling options (especially puts and covered calls) has actually helped stabilise my P/L and generate consistent premiums even during sideways markets.

This month till date, I’m realizing losses on my trades.
No green screenshots.
No “easy money” captions.
Just numbers that didn’t go my way.
And I’m posting this on purpose.
Most trading feeds only show wins.
But losses are where the real lessons live — the kind that don’t fit into a flex post.
Here’s what I’m reflecting on:
• Some trades were technically sound, but poorly timed
• Some positions were too large for the volatility
• A few adjustmen...

$Palantir (PLTR.US)$ has just come through a sharp pullback after failing to hold above the 200 level, and price action is now sitting in an important decision zone.

Secondary trend (daily): pullback/correction underway
Price rejected from the previous high near 207
Currently trading around mid–Bollinger band zone after a volatility spike

Think you can outsmart the market?
As 2025 wraps up and 2026 begins, the market is moving fast. The big question is:
Do you really know where the S&P 500 and Nasdaq are headed — or are you just following the herd?

For those who have not taken profit, I suggest holding till expiry but watch for the 170 level still =)
This is my recommendation for PLTR mid-term. Pleasure reading only please, not financial advise 😊
Current price ~183.
Uptrend intact, but price is extended and likely to consolidate.
Trade idea (income-focused):
• Sell 17 Jan 165 Put
• Sell 17 Jan 205 Call
Why these strikes:
• 165P sits below trend support & prior consolidation – comfortable long entry if a...

Discipline. Volatility. Growth.
2025 reminded me that investing is less about predicting the market and more about managing myself. Volatility was constant — sharp moves, fake breakouts, and sudden reversals — but it forced better discipline in position sizing, entries, and exits.
I focused more on probability-based strategies rather than chasing wins, accepted smaller gains, and cut losses earlier. The result wasn’t perfection, but growth — not just in port...

Looking forward to sharing my plans for 2026. For now I am letting my 2025 positions decay and stay profitable for the year. Cheers!

. In fact, my main strategy is selling options (especially puts and covered calls) to accumulate premiums by leveraging time decay.
.

I can share my experience, same time learn from yours

SGUncleTrades OP TheAussieDude : Haha fair — options can definitely be dangerous… especially when used like lottery tickets
I treat them more like being the “insurance company” instead of the gambler — selling premium on stocks I don’t mind owning. Slower, less exciting, but it pays the bills.
If I ever start buying weekly YOLO calls, someone please take my trading app away.
SGUncleTrades OP BFEADFAN777 : That’s a great realization honestly — options get much safer once you stop chasing entries and start focusing on risk management and consistency.
Smaller premiums more often is exactly how I’ve been approaching it too. It’s less exciting than big wins, but much more sustainable over time.
Income generation + hedging is where options really shine in my opinion. Sounds like you’re using them the right way now
SGUncleTrades OP Greenlightredlight : That makes sense — scalping and closing intraday definitely removes a lot of overnight risk.
I think that’s the interesting thing about options — there are so many ways to use them. Some people trade them like short-term instruments, others use them for income or longer-term positioning.
If your system works and risk is controlled, that’s what matters most. Consistency beats style
SGUncleTrades OP Bullsoldier164 : Agreed — without risk management and a plan, options can definitely turn into gambling.
I’d say there are just different skill sets in trading. Some traders are strong in TA and short-term timing, others focus more on probability, position sizing, and premium income strategies.
No single “right” way — just different edges people develop over time. The goal is staying profitable and surviving long enough to compound.
