Just curious at other people’s approach to selling stocks that are say up 10/15% but mentally you’re primarily a dividend investor. How often do you sell some of those stocks to take the profit for reinvestment elsewhere or what’s your mindset overall? Hope that makes sense, thanks

There has been a lot of rhetoric about Canada's GDP / economy being so heavily dependent on real estate. Always comes up when folks would like to say the future of Canada isn't so bright when asking about investing in USD or converting their money to USD or investing in the US market only, etc.
Yet when we compare our GDP to USA it's really not that different.
Real Estate is #1 in both countries. Is the US economy heavily dependent on real estate?

$Bank of Nova Scotia(BNS.CA$ Scotiabank is one of the Big 3 Canadian banks with diversified business lines of Canadian and international banking, global wealth management, and global banking and markets. Unlike its peers, it has expansive reach in Central and South America, thereby giving it additional levers for growth beyond its home market.

Nowadays I find myself pretty much fully vested in US stocks in my TFSA to be honest.
I don't even follow the Canadian markets since it's all boring banks and resources and grocery/telecom oligopolies and it's so lame in comparison to the tech growth we're seeing in the US.
Is there anything wrong with investing totally in US equities and leaving zero Canadian exposure? $The Toronto-Dominion Bank(TD.CA$ $BCE Inc(BCE.CA$ $Canopy Growth Corp(WEED.CA$ $VANGUARD INVESTMENTS CANADA INC S&P 500 INDEX ETF(VFV.CA$

TIL that there are ETFs that use dividends paid by the underlying stocks to purchase more stock instead of paying them to fund holders. You still end up with the same number of shares in the ETF, but the ETF in turn increases the number of shares held in the underlying stocks. An example is Blackrock's IUES, which holds US energy companies ( $Exxon Mobil(XOM.US$ , $Chevron(CVX.US$ , etc.). I was surprised when I saw it paid no dividend until I figured out this is what's happening.
