According to the latest data disclosed by the China Passenger Car Association, from January 1 to January 11, 2026, retail sales in the national passenger car market reached 328,000 units, a year-on-year decrease of 32% and a month-on-month decline of 42%. Among them, new energy vehicle (NEV) retail sales were 117,000 units, a year-on-year drop of 38% and a month-on-month plunge of 67%. Additionally, the NEV retail penetration rate in the national passenger car market fell to 35.5% (compared to 59.95% in November 2025).
