LoneBone : Im afraid you don’t understand the principles of covered call ETFs. While it’s always ideal for the underlying stock to be slightly bullish,which keeps general interest in the ETFs and NAV up, what’s more important is it improves chances for higher options profit for dividends which is how holders are paid.   Like all dividend stocks the NAV drops about the same as the div at the time but it doesnt mean they are using your own investment to pay you.  The income is generated and distributed. Ive got several Yield Max positions and one of the better ones will completely have paid me what i put in, although price dropped for a few months its back now and rising with the popularity of its underlying, … BUT having 100% of an investments capital  returned in a year AND continued fat monthly imcome..?  not a bad investment
