After reading through 'The Great Way,' a summary of Duan Yongping's insights, several times recently, my understanding of value investing has deepened further. This piece is primarily intended for those who genuinely wish to grasp the underlying logic of 'value investing.' However, one reality must be clarified first: as Buffett said, only a minority are accustomed to earning slow money, while most retail investors in the market lean towards making quick profits through stock trading, leading to frequent swing trading. Nevertheless, even if you engage in swing trading or active trading, understanding value investing remains meaningful. In the US stock market and other mature markets, there are still many outstanding companies that can be understood from an 'enterprise perspective.'
We often see people asking, 'Can I buy this stock at this price?' So, what is the basis for deciding whether it’s a good buy or not?
Benjamin Graham has a classic quote:'In the short run, the market is a voting machine but in the long run, it is a weighing machine,' where the 'weighing' refers not to sentiment, but to the intrinsic value of the company itself.
Returning to the fundamental logic:'Buying stocks is essentially buying companies, and buying companies means buying discounted future cash flows. Understanding a company means understanding its moat.'

The market this week still feels a bit volatile, unable to rise significantly or fall much, just kind of stuck in that back-and-forth grinding state.
This week I mainly executed two trades:
Bought TQQQ twice (around -114 and -120). Received some QQQ dividends +3.66 and cash interest +14.36
Overall, there weren't any particularly aggressive moves, just slowly adding to my position. Personally, I think the current level isn't too high, but I don't dare to go all in either, so I'm buying gradually to feel more at ease.
TQQQ's volatility is quite significant; honestly, I felt a bit hesitant when buying it.

$Vertiv Holdings (VRT.US)$
Buy June 140-180 options in February
Switch to 200-240 options after making profits in late March
Doubled returns twice in a row! Hoping VRT stays above 240 by June!
Bullish $Tesla (TSLA.US)$ $Palantir (PLTR.US)$ Rebound from the bottom!

Systematic trading seems to limit the range of moves, as mean reversion kicks in more quickly

havent done much with earnings for specific sticks but have as far as the general volitility of the market sureounding earnings and current events. This p/l is for the whole year and on a small account but have been pretty successful. i trade in the morning first thing with the overall market which has been influenced by key companies and their earnings. use that as a guage for what the market may do initially the followng day.
