Jttc1980 105944360 : Well ...mine is a deep in the money call expiring in Jan 2028. If you wish to keep the shares for long, you risk having your shares called away if ANET were really to spike during the duration of the covered call. Unless you choose a very high strike price but the premiums will be very small. So i am not a big fan of covered calls unless i am sure i want to discard the stock.

Jttc1980 105944360 : Yes for long term leap call is more capital efficient. But for short term traders who wants to make quick profits, safer to run before they return back all their profits.
