In my humble opinion, the chance for a recession is good. The current administration wants fuel prices to go up (so that we'll all be forced to get electric cars), which makes the price of everything shipped by truck/plane cost more. Add to that excessive government spending, labor shortages, war in Ukraine, and shipping/delivery issues- and the chance of recession increases greatly.
Sometimes I wonder just how high our national debt has to go before it starts to have serious, long-term effects on the stock market. Might there eventually come a time when the market no longer "bounces back"- where the bear market becomes permanent? Just thinking out loud...
