I've read that it's looking like the BOC will do a bigger cut of 0.5% on Wednesday. Will this positively or negatively impact Canadian companies? How should I be thinking about this cut?
I'm not looking to do anything risky or foolish, I'm just curious and want to learn how our bank rates impact Canadian companies/market or if it's just a crap shoot $Royal Bank of Canada (RY.CA)$ $The Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD.CA)$ $Bank of Montreal (BMO.CA)$

Bank of Canada expected to do a 50 bps cut on Wednesday, and another 50 bps in Dec.
IMO, the recent economic data coming out of the US is a blip, and in the coming months we will see it follow the same trend as Canada has been a leading indicator as of late $Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS.CA)$ $ISHARES S&P/TSX 60 INDEX ETF UNIT (XIU.CA)$ $The Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD.CA)$

$The Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD.CA)$ wanted to avg down not up. Holding for now. If I didn't already have a fair position I'd already be buying
This is why I love the big banks when they are in trouble
They really don't pay for their mistakes fully
Their haircut was 10
Percent when many stocks would be 30-50 percent for a scandal of this size.

$The Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD.CA)$ management is criminal. been that way since the Commerce Bank merger.
Don't blame this on bank tellers taking bribes. TD corruption starts at the top.

These fines are exclusively for the US operations. Canada is actually pretty good. $The Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD.CA)$

Don’t be surprised if there are more investigations and fines in the future. TD also called 2025 “a transition year” so personally I’d hold off but I’m just some moron on the internet taking a dump. $The Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD.CA)$

China's making big moves in lithography tech, and that could spell trouble for ASML down the line. If China cracks the EUV tech, ASML's stock might take a big hit. Holding onto those shares could get risky real fast.
