please support poor man's covered call (PMCC) option strategy a.k.a Long call diagonal debit spread. as many users here are not millionaires, being able to trade PMCC allows us to use lesser capital outlay to get almost the same exposure and payout as a normal covered call strategy (plus you get downside protection if the stock drops to 0). Especially useful with expensive stocks like $SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY.US)$ $Tesla (TSLA.US)$ $Netflix (NFLX.US)$ $Apple (AAPL.US)$ $Alphabet-A (GOOGL.US)$. We don't have usd40k lying around to do the normal covered call strategy.
implementation wise, you can just lock the long call option up as collateral when the user sell a shorter term call option on it.

All good but can you please make it possible to trade Poor Man's Covered Call? Currently when I buy a long term deep in a money call option on a stock it is not recognised as a security when selling a short term out of money call option on the same stock. It should be, and your options trading system should recognise it instead of asking for a cash security at the total value of 100 shares when trying to sell that short term call. I have used paper trading to test synthetic positions such as the poor mans covered call. during a bull market these work well on Equity index ETFs such as QQQ and SPY. If I am ever in a down position at the end of call i can roll the contract. i have used paper trading to become a better real trader.

I purchased a LEAPS call on SPY and am trying to sell covered calls. I am disappointed to find out that you cannot sell covered calls against the synthetic stock on this platform. Can someone tell me if there is a way to do this or do I need to move my $$$ to another broker.
