PhillipCapital analysts pointed out that the performance of Malaysian stocks in 2026 is projected to remain stable, supported by these six key themes.
Among the six themes, growth in the data center sector and the green energy transition are particularly strong drivers for Malaysian stocks heading into 2026.
First, he noted that with the support of trade diversion, inflows of foreign direct investment into Malaysia are expected to rise, further bolstering Malaysian stocks.
From the perspective of equivalent tariffs imposed by the United States, Malaysia holds an advantage over other ASEAN countries. Coupled with a mature industrial ecosystem, strategic infrastructure, and integrated supply chain connectivity, Malaysia can continue to be a preferred destination for foreign capital.
The analyst also mentioned that in the first nine months of this year, Malaysia approved investment projects totaling 285 billion ringgit, up 13.2% year-on-year, of which 151 billion ringgit came from foreign direct investment, surging 48% year-on-year.
