Let's explore w...

Dear mooers, Sarge is back again to our live streaming event. This time we will be running this video just one day before the Federal Open Markets Committee is set to announce its latest decision on interest rates.
Stocks, U.S. Treasury bonds, options and more could move wildly depending on what the Fed says in its communique or in Fed Chair Jerome Powell’s upcoming press conference.
What might investors want to watch for on this or any other Fed Day...

1. In today's market, do you favor US Treasuries or bond funds?
With rising inflation and potential increases in bond yields, I think bond funds, rather than US Treasuries, can provide greater flexibility and diversity to mitigate market uncertainties. While US Treasuries are secure government bonds, their fixed interest rates leave them exposed to inflation, so US Treasuries may provide lower yields. On the other hand, bond funds pool investors' funds to create a diverse bond portfolio. B...

The US 10-year note yield rises to 4.73%, its highest level since November 1st, 2023. This puts the 10-year note yield ~100 basis points above its December 2024 low.
With just 1 interest rate cut now expected in 2024, discussions of more HIKES are back.
If todays' PCE inflation data confirms that inflation is back on the rise, we could see futures price out the last cut.

1. In today's market, do you favor US Treasuries or bond funds?
US Treasuries have min order of 1000USD and there seems to be a wide range to choose from, how do we determine which is the best? Whereas bond funds have lower entry threshold and covers a wider range of bonds managed by professionals
2. How would you adjust your investments? Share your asset allocation ideas.

doctorpot1OP : Thank you every one for your support
doctorpot1OP Gianna_xoxo: Once you own the contract you can sell it just like any other stock. you will earn money if you manage to sell it for a price higher than what you bought it for, and lose money if you sell it for a price lower than what you bought it for
doctorpot1OP CᖇYᑌI᙭: the whole video will be available for replay so can watch it in the future
doctorpot1OP 73682450: I'm not too sure about this. think need to ask @Moomoo Buddy
doctorpot1OP Gianna_xoxo: yes once you buy an option. it is yours and it is in your account till expiration date. you can sell it for a higher price to earn money or you can exercise it too.
e.g. you bought a call option with a strike price of $10. the share price now is $20. if you can either sell the option and earn the profit or exercise it and get the shares which also results in a profit because you bought the shares for cheaper price than what it is worth
