$TC Energy Corp(TRP.CA$ I think what’s keeping people away is a result of a structural shift. Investors don’t want businesses that thrive off of low rates in a high rate environment. Pipelines and telecoms in this country have very high debt loads. Pay large dividends, that keeps debt from ever being able to go down.
Structurally that’s not the ideal investment one would be looking for atm, even if it looks cheap.

Hi all, apologies for the room temperature IQ question. I've focused most investing in Canadian based ETFs rather than in $Invesco QQQ Trust(QQQ.US$ , $SPDR S&P 500 ETF(SPY.US$ etc.
I wanted to ask about investing in stocks that are on the NYSE versus the CAD Hedged stock that appears.

Hi guys, dividend ETFs like $VANGUARD FTSE CDN HIGH DIVID YIELD TRUST UNIT(VDY.CA$ or $ISHARES S&P/TSX COMPOSITE HIGH DIV UNITS(XEI.CA$ are popular among many Canadian investors. I am trying to understand how dividends work. For example, the current share price of $VDY is $44.71 and it has a 12 month yield of 4.57%.
So let’s say I buy 100 shares of $VDY at $44.71, meaning $4471 invested in total. Since this etf has a monthly dividend payout, would it be $4471...
