I think it’s starting to become clear that the auto market in ~5-10 years will resemble something akin to Apple vs Samsung in the smartphone market.
Tesla is Apple.
BYD is Samsung.
Then there’s everyone else. Question becomes, who licenses FSD from Tesla?

Electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla lost a significant amount of its share price in 2022 despite delivering a record 1.3 million vehicles. In the eyes of investors, Tesla is not immune to the challenges confronting the automotive sector as a whole.
Recently, the company has been forced to reduce the prices of its flagship Model 3 sedan and Model Y SUV in China and the United States.

$NIO Inc(NIO.US$ could be profitable today with only delivering 10k vehicles per month. But they are spending 3 billion RMB on R&D per quarter. Now this market would love NIO if it was even slightly profitable like $Li Auto(LI.US$ auto is. Where would they be in 2025 if they don’t spend on R&D?

On Monday, Tesla’s stock price closed down 0.24% to $149.87. Although it did not fall much, after the news that 57.5% of netizens agreed that Musk stepped down as CEO of Twitter, the stock rose nearly 5% before the market. The close of $149.87 was already below levels last seen on Oct. 15, 2020, the first time it fell below $150 in more than two years.

$Tesla(TSLA.US$ green in a sea of red today and IMO too much blame being placed on elonmusk& Twitter.
Why is $XPEV -79%, $RIVN -77%, $NIO -64%, $LCID -81% in 2022? Broader constraints on the EV industry are clearly present, but everyone wants to blame Musk. Very odd.
