It’s Budget Day!
I'm really hoping to see a substantial increase in the payments for pensioners and welfare recipients. With the rising cost of living, every little bit helps. And if there could be some tax relief for middle-income earners like me, that would also be a big help. I'm also keen to see if there's any funding for affordable housing initiatives – that's a big issue in my city.

The calibre of people at the RBA is just atrocious. ‘Retail central banking’.

RBA interest rate hold again yesterday, freezing the cash rate at 4.35%.
Three-year high on mortgage arrears.
Thankfully the country has propped the housing market with record migration, up 695,000 in 12 months.
How to tackle inflation?
Keep interest rates above 4%
Open flood gates to migration
Continue to print money at a rate less than the GDP income surpluss of the migrants?
If the GDP per person is $66,589.05, we can expect the migrants to generate $43.785 billion dollars for Australia.

Miserable retail sales.
In real terms, -0.4%; down 6 of last 7 qtrs - wow.
Down 5.7% in real per capita terms from peak - wow squared.
I'm hopeful RBA doesn't stuff things up. Inflation is falling - hiking interest rates due to insurance, petrol, school fees?
