(Kuala Lumpur, 4th News) Influenced by factors such as global interest rate cuts and the weakening US dollar, JPMorgan believes that significant foreign capital inflows may occur, improving the outlook for Southeast Asian stock markets next year. However, it maintains a 'neutral' rating for Malaysian stocks and sets the target for the KLCI at 1,800 points by the end of 2026.
JPMorgan analysts pointed out that Malaysia is one of the countries with the most robust macroeconomic fundamentals in ASEAN, with Gross Domestic Product (GDP) expected to grow steadily at 4.6% this year. The Overnight Policy Rate (OPR) remains stable at 2.75%, while inflation stays moderate at 1.8%, providing sufficient conditions to attract foreign capital inflows.
"Supported by a robust economy, the Malaysian stock market will enter 2026 on a strong footing. We predict that ASEAN could attract approximately USD 20 billion (approximately MYR 82.8 billion) in foreign capital inflows in 2026. If Malaysia's foreign capital inflows return to the median level of the past three years, this would imply MYR 20.7 billion to MYR 24.8 billion (USD 5 billion to USD 6 billion) in foreign capital returning to Malaysia."
The analyst also noted that significant inflows of foreign capital could notably drive up local banking stocks and highly liquid blue-chip stocks.
Banking Stocks Stand to Benefit Significantly
"Banking stocks are the most obvious beneficiaries when foreign capital returns, supported by strong loan growth, manageable asset quality, and upward potential in capital management businesses."
The analyst also stated that artificial intelligence (AI) and data centers remain key structural investment themes that cannot be ignored. The next beneficiaries are expected to shift towards power generation, ..."

(Kuala Lumpur, 5th report) UOB Kay Hian believes that Malaysian stocks will shine in 2026, and investors could benefit through seven key investment themes.
UOB Kay Hian analysts pointed out that Malaysian stocks are expected to make significant gains next year, reversing this year’s lackluster performance where they trailed behind most Asian and ASEAN markets. Investors can leverage these seven investment themes to capitalize on the anticipated upward momentum.
Firstly, the analyst noted that strong domestic demand for solar power and electricity infrastructure is expected to drive growth in the green energy and power infrastructure sectors.
Secondly, the strong performance of the ringgit has led analysts to note that this could reduce import costs for some consumer stocks while allowing companies with foreign currency debt to benefit from foreign exchange conversion.
"The Visit Malaysia Year 2026 is another key investment theme, with beneficiaries including the local food industry and food operators, as well as real estate investment trusts managing retail malls."
The analyst divided the technology sector, along with artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain, into two distinct investment themes, noting that the overall tech sector benefits from trade diversion trends and the semiconductor growth cycle, while only a few specific stocks like ITMAX Systems $ITMAX (5309.MY)$ stand to gain from the AI and blockchain themes."
The development of Iskandar Special Zone 2.0 and data centers are the two additional key investment themes for 2026 proposed by the analyst, with these themes expected to benefit both construction contractors and information technology (IT) service providers simultaneously.
Moreover, the analyst specifically expressed a bearish outlook on glove stocks, assigning a negative rating to the sector...

The way I see the Malaysian stock market which I anticipate of the most especially stocks related to Data Center and Finance could really bring positive impact to our country's financial growth especially in the long term. Due to direct foreign investment rapidly investing in our country could really boost our economy.
This could bring direct and indirect stocks which related to tourism, finance, data centers, technology and semiconductor a very positive long term outlook.
