(Kuala Lumpur, 19th) CTOS Digital $CTOS (5301.MY)$ announced yesterday the divestment of its entire 26% stake in Experian Information Services (EIS) for MYR 80 million. Market observers believe this will have a limited impact on profitability and will facilitate capital reallocation to strengthen core strategic growth areas.
An analyst from Kenanga Investment Bank noted that based on Experian Information Services' estimated annual profit of approximately MYR 4 million, the price-earnings ratio of the sale is 20 times, which is fundamentally consistent with CTOS Digital’s current valuation.
“We believe this divestment is beneficial for CTOS Digital, especially considering Experian Information Services’ relatively smaller scale in Malaysia's credit reporting market.”
Additionally, an analyst from RHB Investment Bank stated that CTOS Digital would record a one-time gain of MYR 18 million from this transaction. Of the proceeds, MYR 49 million will be used to reduce debt, MYR 29.4 million will serve as working capital, and the remainder will be allocated to pay capital gains tax.
“The completion of the divestment will have a minor impact on profitability, with expectations of reducing our net profit forecasts for the fiscal years 2026 (ending December) and 2027 by 2% and 1%, respectively. Additionally, the net debt-to-equity ratio is expected to improve to around 20%.”
Profit Forecast Revised Downward by 4%
An analyst from Kenanga Investment Bank has adjusted the profit forecast for the fiscal year 2026 downward by approximately 4%.
