I’m a long term investor so these are just some of the lessons I’ve learnt from my limited experience with day trading. I will also give a brief overview of the VWAP indicator which is often used by day traders.
    Lessons Learnt
    1) Trade when the mind is clear and alert
Do not trade when you’re feeling sleepy, tired, unwell or troubled. This is especially true when trading in a foreign market with time zone differences. Day trading requires snap decisions and you can’t make those decisions if you are feeling poorly.
    2) Play small
Limit the amount invested to a small percentage of your capital so it wouldn’t hurt if it is lost entirely. This is important as there is no such thing as a hundred percent success rate.
    3) Plan your entry and exit
Set target profit and stop loss when entering a trade. This helps you to know when to exit. Do not hesitate or second guess yourself. Capital preservation is important.
    4) A good knowledge of technical indicators is required
This enables one to spot and interpret the signals. Using a number of technical indicators helps to confirm the signal and improve the probability of wins.
    VWAP Indicator
VWAP stands for volume-weighted average price. It is basically the average trading price of a stock after taking into account the volume. The formula is VWAP = number of shares x typical price divided by the total number of shares. Since VWAP is calculated from previous prices, there will be a lag which becomes bigger throughout the day. VWAP is reset each day.
How to view VWAP in Moomoo:
In Detailed Quotes, click on Chart Settings > Indicators > VWAP.
Make sure VWAP is checked. You can modify the colour if you wish.
Once this is done, return to the chart. You can click VWAP at the bottom of the chart (portrait mode) or on the right hand side of the chart (landscape mode). In the pictures below, VWAP is the yellow line.
    How To Use VWAP Indicator
A rising VWAP shows that buyers have more control, a declining VWAP shows that sellers have more control and a flat VWAP means the stock is trading within a range. When the price is above VWAP, it is in the overbought zone and when the price is below VWAP, it is in the oversold zone.
VWAP can be used to establish support and resistance price levels. In general, traders try to trade close to VWAP in anticipation of a bounce off (long) or a decline (short). Institutional investors use VWAP as a benchmark when planning their entries and exits to minimise their effect on the market price. So do companies when they do share buybacks e.g. $Apple(AAPL.US)$ .
It is a good idea to use VWAP in conjunction with other technical indicators such as MACD, RSI and Stochastic to confirm the signal before executing a trade. Use a paper account to practise and test out your strategies before risking any real money.

Against the backdrop of the global covid-19 pandemic, 2021 has brought new challenges and opportunities to this year's trading. We responded with laughter and tears. This post compiles six stories that present a vivid picture of mooers' investing experiences. We sincerely hope that you will enjoy the stories!
Spoiler: There's a chance to get a bonus if you read till the end.
"Never forget why you started, so your mission can be completed."
Every incredible adventure started with a baby step. When we look back to the very beginning of our trading journey, we ask ourselves why we got started in the first place? Realistically speaking, money is what we all are after, but what made us brave enough to take the first step? Here is one of the most satisfying answers.
"She Has Inspired Me" said by @HuatLady. His trading journey started with his 21 birthday gift – a $100 saving bank account book from his parents.
"I was touched because that was her virtuous desire for me to be independent, and to make effective decisions, not only for the trading field but throughout my life for a better Future."
Making profits is not the ultimate goal of investing. What you can learn in the process will get you further in life.
"The only way to overcome bad luck is working hard."
Novices deserve a bit of "beginner's luck." "Did I have beginner's luck when I first started trading?" @cowabangawas quite confident at first because of the money he made in the market. After that, there're setbacks, and there's luck again.
"As I trade along, the results are certainly compelling! I dare say I have one of the finest beginner's luck out there for my first few wins at the market provided trading returns in folds. It was truly an amazing experience given the confidence it spurs in you. But like what the market veterans would say 'the market giveth, the market taketh'..."
The truth is that luck is the combination of skills and opportunities. Many things that look like luck at first blush are part of a cycle.
After investing for some time, many mooers might feel anxious and regretful. Some of us can't stop thinking about what we should've done when we were younger and what could've been achieved if we'd chosen differently. @aoimizushared his advice with the younger ones at "I hate finance ... but I'm here"
"I support young people who want to begin their investment journey early. As mentioned in a previous post (Gen Z and debt), I'd put aside my part-time job earnings as the capital for investments. I'd be more proactive in scanning the news and be updated on the overall environment. I'd become more curious about the companies that make the products I use, and study them more closely."
@小虎发大财wrote something about his words to himself if he can travel back in time at his post "I started my investment journey in 2017."
"I entered the market without any knowledge and purely by rumors, ended up suffering a loss. From there onwards, i started reading and watching video on youtube to educate myself, even till now hungry for knowledge. If I can return back time, i will tell myself to start off investment way earlier."
Regrets are common in trade because they occur both when you make a move or do absolutely nothing. How to deal with "regrets" when you want to start with "if only"? @Powerhouseresponded with "Really? Then you are not playing big enough!!"
"Investment is like this. You lost some here; you better wake up your idea to earn more somewhere else...Play within your means. That is how I consoled myself. Lose, never mind, just don't lose your mind and spirit. Miss the boat, try the other boat beside it!"
"The minute you appreciate what you have, joyfulness overcomes suffering."
2021 may not be the best in your life, but it couldn't be worse than 2020. Could it? We survived 2020, so when we start to appreciate what we have, 2021 could be a year full of joyfulness.
Do you agree with @Syueeat her post "Birds of a Feather, Flock Together!"?
"I believe in following the practice of gratitude, giving and sharing with the less fortunate. Not everyone is as lucky to have a roof over their heads, clothes to cover their bodies and food to fill their stomachs...Happiness keeps you sweet. Trials keep you strong. Sorrows keep you human. Failure keeps you humble. Success keeps you glowing. FAMILY keeps you GOING."
Moo community is committed to accompanying you throughout your trading journey and offering as much support as we can.
2021 might be the start of the trading journey for many mooers. We've seen many mooers saying that moomoo is what gets them started in trading. That is AWESOME!
@aoimizusaid in one of his posts, "There is a sense of camaraderie in the moomoo community, making me feel that this is not a lonely journey and I can always ask for help". This is exactly what moomoo wants to bring to all of you! We will always be there for you. Wish you all a very happy 2022 ahead!

$AMC Entertainment(AMC.US)$ We've seen two hedge funds fall. We know without a doubt that we have are foot in the door and that our strategy is working. So why not just give up ? Eventually you got to pull the arrow out and clean the wound ! You might as well do it now before it gets worst.

$Pfizer(PFE.US)$ When I first started moomoo, I was buying in stocks blindly. It has been 2 weeks now since I grasp a little on how to read candle charts, momentum strategy, tracking patterns, etc. My positions' "loss" are not as drastic as before and am happy to see few greens every other day
    Knowledge is important
For this post, let's take short-term trading as intra-day trading that last from seconds to minutues. It's commonly termed as scalp, intrad-day swing trading. I'll use scalp here.
    Why Scalp?
-- If you have a positive expectancy strategy, how do you make more $ from the strategy? One way is to generate more trades, the more the merrier! Why do casinos give you "free" goodies (cheap rooms, meal, drinks, etc)? To attract as many people to play (ie. trades) in the casino as possible! The more trades, the more they make; it's a number game.
-- Since scalping is so short-term, there is no need to trade many different instruments/symbols. No need to scan the thousands of stocks, options, etc. Save all those time scanning. looking at many charts, company fundamentals . Just focus on trading that 1 symbol. More productive use of your time, right?
-- No over-night risk. After you finish scalping, go sleep without fear of any nasty surprises when you wake up the next day. No position in the market = no market risk.
    What to Scalp?
Must choose a instrument that has sufficient movement, daily range & liquidity. That movement should translate to good profit, ROI. So what do I scalp? My favorite is the emini index futures, specifically, symbol ES which is the S&P500 index futures. 1 tick (minimum price move) is 0.25 points for ES, & has a value of US$12.50 per contract (all dollar value is USD). You can get fee for a round-turn trade/contract of about $4 from discount broker. So, with just 1 tick profit, not only cover fee, just got profit (12.50-4.00) For example, On 7 Dec (Thur), during RTH (regular trading hours, meaning when the US stock market is open), the ES has a range of 50 points with 1.4 million contracts traded (very liquid). 50 pts translate to US$2,500/contract. Intra-day margin/contract about $500. 2500/500=500% ROI ! This is the power of a leverage product, which the ES is.
    How to Scalp?
Trade mainly technically, although high impact news could move price. So must have good technical skills. Like other types of trading, the 3M of trading is important. Method, Mind, & Money Management.
I'll stop here for now; don't even know whether ppl will read it. If u did, thanks for time.
    Have a great day!

$Apple(AAPL.US)$ Unless you have been living under a rock you have watched Apples insane run up the past few weeks. In the past month Apple has increased 20.7% with Fridays close.
Apple is sitting on a lot of cash, inflation is here, interest hikes are in the distance, AR and EV rumors have been mentioned, price upgrades have been released, Apples super cycle is clearly underway..
Where does Apple seem to be heading from your experience? Are we in for some more short term upside as the holiday quarter continues into earnings late January? Will Apple lose steam and stabilize a bit lower? Or maybe Apple and the other high fliers in a volatile market will soon catch up to the broader market?
Is 3 trillion coming soon? What do you think?!
