Less than a quarter of active managers beat the market even when S&P returned more than 20% in 2021.
Stay diversified by buying the whole market through passive indices like $Vanguard S&P 500 ETF(VOO.US$$Vanguard Total World Stock ETF(VT.US$.
Capturing the market returns is much better than your average active managers who can't beat the market. Don't need to beat the market, just ride the market, for the long run.

No change in my strategy. News in the media are just noise.
Stay invested to ride through the ups and downs. Time in the market and not timing the market. Time is your best ally in investing.

Every Lunar New Year my schedule will be filled visitings to family and friend's home. Thankfully this year we can continue to do that amidst this pandemic though we have to take extra care. Alot of eating and drinking and also gambling! Time to win some quick money but it's only for the fun and thrill of it. Of cos I'll continue to invest prudently to generate greater wealth.
Wishing all Mooers, Happy Lunar New Year! 新年快乐,身体健康,万事如意,心想事成!大家發啊!

My goal this year is to continue investing consistently every month into the broad markets like $Vanguard S&P 500 ETF(VOO.US$ & $Ishares Core MSCI Total Interna(IXUS.US$
At the same time executing my experiment with the magic formula.
Lastly, buy into technologies & innovations (especially whenever there's a dip) that I believe will make breakthroughs in the near future and benefit humankind. Examples like $QuantumScape(QS.US$ & $Palantir(PLTR.US$

For a company that's not producing that many cars and generating good top and bottomline doesn't justify the 70bn market cap. Too much premium to pay for this even if it's backed by Jeff Bezos. Shall sit this one out and wait and see 1 to 2 years down the road.
Buy good companies trading at cheap prices. Companies with high earnings yield and return on capital. Supplement it with relatively above average growth rate. Also reading recent earnings report to understand the business the company is doing.
I think it's good that the people are getting into investing at a younger age. It's the almost sure way to build wealth over a long period of time. Starting younger provides longer runway for their investments to compound.
However, this is assuming they get themselves educated on investing and not treating the stock market as a casino. Of course setting aside a small portion of your portfolio as 'play' money is fine.
