Whilst interest rate remains elevated for longer, I will remain invested in Fullerton Cashplus funds to capture stable returns.
As 10Y bond yields have rose to 4.72% recently, I will be on the lookout for a good entry point to $iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF(TLT.US)$. The idea is to reap some monthly dividends and to gain capital appreciation when interest rate eventually falls. If I do indeed hold a position in the near future, I certainly wont hold for long term as...

Hooray! Thank you Moo Moo for introducing this simple and fun game to keep Mooers entertained and craving for more excitement (fishing game is too tough for me to make meaningful headways).
Complete tasks to earn chances to collect as much coins and giftbags as possible while avoiding bombs for exchange of cash coupon or fund yield coupons or points. What better way to have endless fun and wonder and getting rewards for it.
The fun doesnt stop here. Post your leaderboard spot ...

Congratulations to Moo Moo for achieving yet another WONDERful milestone!
I was looking for a low cost brokerage (compared to traditional securities firm) to invest in U.S. shares and options trading and chanced upon Moo Moo while googling. Attracted by Moo vibrant orange logo, spin of free stock and its offer of SGD2 daily for 30 days to subscribe to cash plus, I came on board in 2022.

I am also keen to gain insights on how to select strike price for options.
Personally when selling option to collect premium, I pick strike price that is below support level.
If I do want to get assign the stock, I will pick strike price above support level.
Support level together with trend line serve as guidance to the strike price I pick as strike price.

2023 is an overall profitable year. Gains outweigh losses due to bad decisions.
For 2024, I will:
1. Remain invested in Fullerton Cash Fund while the yield is still higher than FDs & SG Tbills.
2. Focus on learning & fine-tuning trading plans & strategies so as not to lose money.
3. Using options to generate consistent returns - get the stock I wish to buy (cash secured puts) or to sell stock (covered calls).

From what used to be investments in safe assets classes like savings account n FDs, I have revised and up allocation to Fullertion cash fund and tech stocks. The former gives slightly better rates than traditional banking products whilst providing liquidity and the latter presents an opportunity to ride the wave of recovery in 2023. Complementing the stock holdings with option trades have also helped to boost some extra returns.
Cash Plus funds are comparable to returns on SG tbills; am using them as alternative to park idle funds. Plus points is that Cash Plus is far more liquid than 6mths or 1yr tbills and boost up the buying power which can be deployed to stock investment opportunities. Smartsave feature is useful as the automatic features of redemption n subscription does help to ease the day to day management of funds in Moomoo.
