With HSI so low, most retail traders will go long rather than short and long investors will not touch HSI at all but to touch other global indices. some even wanna get out of HSI hence every rally, people are exiting their long term. $Hang Seng Index(800000.HK$ with that said. 1-2 years we might stuck in a range from 14000-18000ish
A change of China stand will be required to break the range such as stimulus and cutting interest rate rather than banning short sellers and other nonsensical action

$Hang Seng Index(800000.HK$ Financial|Qiasui expects a new round of capital inflows in China is unlikely
Karen Karniol-Tambour, co-chief investment officer of hedge fund Bridgewater, said China was also unlikely to see a new round of capital inflows due to investor fears of political interference. China's economic growth is unlikely to come as a surprise, she said, because the government's stimulus measures to boost the economy are not bold enough. The Chinese government still insists on only stimulus measures that meet its political goals, which are too narrow to offset the huge tide of problems it faces.
She also said US interest rates could remain at higher levels for years to come, partly related to the US fiscal deficit. She does not think that the strength of the US dollar could be threatened, given the size of the US debt and equity markets, investors will continue to invest in the US. She believes that the United States is still far from facing significant challenges, and the United States will continue to see disproportionate inflows of funds, regardless of their attractiveness.
