According to the principle of value investing, people should pick stocks that appear to be trading for less than their book value. Which means buy when the stock price drops. There's another group of people who trade oppositely. They follow the market trend to buy and sell. The more a stock price has risen, the more they buy-in.
So which way is more "right"? The fact is, the reality is all grey areas. There are very few black and white answers. Don't rid yourself of ideology and narrowness. There are hundreds of ways to get rich if you stay open-minded. Different methods can be used in different scenarios.

I don’t get why folks automatically assume, for whatever reason, that Warner Bros. Discovery will immediately try to jump into the sack with either $ViacomCBS(VIAC.US)$ or $Comcast(CMCSA.US)$. It makes no sense. Where’s the payoff for all the regulatory and operational pain in attempting such a merger immediately on the heals of the WBD deal?
Better for WBD to take a breather, get its bearings, pay down some debt, invest in its own content and focus on streaming and expanding internationally.
WBD will be well positioned to effectively compete directly with $Netflix(NFLX.US)$, $Disney(DIS.US)$, et al at inception. Why would WBD want to complicate matters?

$Amazon(AMZN.US)$ workers in Staten Island, New York have reportedly withdrawn a petition to hold a vote to unionize.
The National Labor Relations Board confirmed that a group of Amazon workers withdrew their petition, according to an Associated Press report. The NLRB was set to hold a vote in less than two weeks on if there was enough interest for a union at an Amazon distribution center.
Earlier this year, Amazon workers at a fulfillment center in Bessemer, Alabama, voted against forming a union. The NLRB accused the company of tampering with the vote with an anti-union push, a claim the e-commerce giant denied.
In September, The Teamsters Union, one of the largest labor unions in the United States, reportedly campaigned to organize Amazon employees in at least nine facilities in Canada.
