the usual adage about singapore banks:
1) DBS is professionally owned and professionally run.
2) OCBC is family owned but professionally run.
3) UOB is family owned and family run.
UOB used to be the biggest bank in 2001 when they merged with OUB overseas union bank.
but over the years, market share and earnings of UOB are dropping, culminating in today's pitiful earnings report.
