I only say this due to my experiences thus far with these halts, in all the cases I've dealt with thus far, (not an boatload of them but a picture) from my perspective it happens when a stock is more in danger of hyper inflating, than of experiencing loss. I seriously dont think its to protect the company from a drop in share price. Its to protect the people trying to stop a rise that may, or may not make "logical" sense.
