What Can We Do When the Market Crashes?
[What Can We Do When the Market Crashes?]

Markets have been really unstable these past few days.
Many people are panicking or starting to doubt their original investment decisions.
But here’s what I want to say, simply:
Just because the market crashes, doesn’t mean we have to crash with it.
I recently met up with a fellow investor and content creator, @Jaspher 林国佑.
Like me, he shares about stocks, businesses, and strategies online.
But guess what?
During our meetup, we barely talked about stocks.
Instead, we talked about:
• How to build a business for the long haul
• How to overcome life’s low points
• How to take care of our health and family relationships
• Why so many people always feel lost in the stock market
And honestly — I loved that conversation.
Because it reminded me that life is more than just “what stock to buy.”
So back to the key question:
What can we do when the market crashes?
1. Don’t rush to act — calm your emotions first
In a crash, the biggest mistakes are made by people, not by charts.
If you panic-sell or rush to “buy the dip” or “make it back,”
you might end up selling at the bottom or buying right before another big drop.
My advice: pause.
Look at the big picture.
Is your stock just having a healthy pullback, or has the trend really broken?
Are you a trader or a long-term investor?
Use the right approach, so you don’t walk the wrong path.
2. Level up your skills — instead of just staring at losses
Yes, I gave back some profits in this pullback too. But I know this is just a chapter, not the end.
If you don’t feel confident trading right now —
use this time to make yourself stronger. Not by guessing the market, but by growing yourself.
• I’m currently compiling a reading list of the most inspiring books I’ve read —
covering trend investing, mindset, risk management, trading psychology and more.
If you’re interested, comment “Reading List” and I’ll turn it into a post soon.
• You can also look back at previous market crashes,
and study when were the best times to re-enter.
3. Talk to people, exchange ideas
Like my chat with Jaspher — it wasn’t just about stocks,
it was about what it means to live as someone in the stock market world.
Every conversation with mentors, peers, or even friends
can shift your perspective and give you new clarity.
If you’ve been feeling stuck lately —
invite someone for a coffee, attend a live class, or join a sharing session.
You never know — one good conversation could change the way you see your journey.
4. Step away from the screen, take a short trip
If you’re mentally and emotionally exhausted,
maybe it’s time for a short getaway.
It doesn’t have to be far —
maybe a peaceful hiking trail, an old café you haven’t visited in a while,
or a long-postponed trip with your family.
Travel doesn’t just help you relax —
it helps you rediscover yourself.
Sometimes, the best investment is not in the market, but in your own well-being.
Final thought:
The market will always move up and down.
But whether or not you grow — that’s entirely your choice.
So the market crashed —
But are you also breaking down, or are you breaking through?
Just because you’re not trading right now, doesn’t mean you’re wasting time.
You can read, reflect, travel, connect, and prepare for the next opportunity.
