Weekly roundup: Political risks, AI buzz & macro momentum
Markets continued their climb last week, powered by a mix of geopolitical calm, AI enthusiasm, and a stronger-than-expected U.S. jobs report. The $NASDAQ 100 Index (.NDX.US)$ gained 1.97%, $S&P 500 Index (.SPX.US)$ rose 2.02%, and $Russell 2000 Index (.RUT.US)$ surged 3.19%, with small caps staging a standout comeback.
Meanwhile, excitement over AI infrastructure remained strong, and political headlines added a dose of drama: Trump’s public feud with Elon Musk triggered a sharp 14.3% drop in $Tesla (TSLA.US)$, reminding markets just how real political risk can be. Elsewhere, $Circle (CRCL.US)$—the first publicly listed stablecoin issuer—made a stunning debut, soaring over 247% in just two days.
As always, let’s take a look at some of the most exciting stories and strategies shared by our moomoo community last week.

As we head into a new week, markets are bracing for a data-packed macro calendar and key policy moments. All eyes will be on Wednesday’s CPI report, which could be pivotal in shaping near-term Fed expectations, followed closely by Thursday’s PPI. Friday’s consumer sentiment and inflation expectations will round out the macro picture.
On the policy front, the U.S.-China London meeting could stir fresh geopolitical narratives, while Apple’s WWDC may spark moves in the AI and tech ecosystem.
Earnings are lighter but not without interest— $Oracle (ORCL.US)$, $Adobe (ADBE.US)$, $The Kroger Co. (KR.US)$, and $GameStop (GME.US)$ will offer insights across enterprise software, retail, and consumer sentiment.

CNNT : I'm astonished by the mooers who have the courage to play in a highly volatile $Tesla (TSLA.US)$ option market. I have not developed that level of confidence yet.
As of last Friday, I gave up 2 of my covered call stocks at a loss to free up the cash and cut short the pain of having to roll, track, and use so much brain power to try to scalp back the losses.
In my new learn-by-getting-my-hands-dirty phase, I will be focusing on buying calls on growth stocks. The success hinges in my ability to spot the next growth stocks.
