Weekly Buzz: Finally a Good Week for 2025
Happy weekend investors! Welcome back to Weekly Buzz where we talk about the top ten buzzing stocks on moomoo this week! Comment below to answer the Weekly Topic question for a chance to win an award!
Make Your Choice
The market finally climbed this week, after a shaky start to the new year; I guess it just took a full trading week!
Next week, Trump's inauguration will be held indoors as an arctic blast of cold air hits Washington, and investors will watch to see if his administration's highly controversial and sometimes confused promises begin to go into effect. By next Friday's Buzz, we will see if his tariffs, border walls, and project 2025 adjacent enactments will have a similar cooling effect on the market that the late January snow will have on his first day.
At the end of the week, the $S&P 500 Index (.SPX.US)$ was up nearly 3%, the $Dow Jones Industrial Average (.DJI.US)$ climbed more than 3.6%, and the $Nasdaq Composite Index (.IXIC.US)$ grew 2.45% for the week. Next week the market will close on Monday, and we all hope it opens on Tuesday, but so far, 2025's shortened trading weeks have not been helpful to the market's performance.
Anyway, let's dive into the buzzing stocks this week:
1. $XRP (XRP.CC)$  - Buzzing Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
According to Barron's, XRP's price surged over 250% in the past quarter, with expectations for new spot ETFs that would hold actual crypto. There was also news of the SEC's legal case against Ripple, initiated in 2020 for violating investor protection laws, resulting in a $125 million fine. The SEC wanted more money, and appealed last October, and on Wednesday, Ripple's Chief Legal Officer stated that the SEC's new brief merely repeats previous arguments, promising a formal response soon.

@Surelyuknow : $XRP (XRP.CC)$ Trump inauguration will move indoors over frigid weather

According to the Wall Street Journal, 79% of S&P 500 companies reporting earnings for the fourth quarter have exceeded expectations, above the 5-year average of 77%, as per FactSet's Earnings Insight report. Nvidia, Amazon, and Alphabet from the "Magnificent 7" are expected to be among the top 10 contributors to year-over-year earnings growth. Nvidia will report on February 26th, while most of the other Magnificent 7 companies will report in two weeks.

While shares of semiconductor manufacturers -- including $Lam Research (LRCX.US)$, $Marvell Technology (MRVL.US)$, and $Applied Materials (AMAT.US)$ -- got a lift when $Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM.US)$ reported earnings on Thursday, AMD didn't. The stock was down Thursday.
Also, on Thursday, Caso trimmed his rating on AMD shares and removed his $210 price target. The analyst said the decision stemmed from lower expectations for data-center GPU revenue than previously anticipated. Still, the chipstock climbed for the week, and is expected to report February 4th.

  • Coach Donnie : Excellent Content as usual @Kevin Travers Thanks for the shoutout 🤝

  • LittleSoldier : Thats just a Silly Question will Trump help the economy??  My Mom use to say ask a stupid question get a stupid answer Duh!!

  • HuatLady : My focus is on RSP and maintaining exposure to good-quality stocks across sectors, rather than chasing trends tied to specific events. Big tech earnings are certainly insightful for market sentiment but they won't drastically shift my approach.[undefined]
As for Trump taking office, political changes are a constant, but my strategy prioritises fundamentals and long-term resilience over reacting to headlines. Staying diversified and disciplined remains key for me. [undefined][undefined]

  • Surelyuknow : maybe

  • HuatEver : I am excited about upcoming investment opportunities driven by tech earnings, particularly with the meteoric rise of AI. Leading tech stocks to watch out for include $Meta Platforms (META.US)$, $Amazon (AMZN.US)$ and $Microsoft (MSFT.US)$.
As Trump begins his second presidential term, investors are closely monitoring potential policy changes that could impact the market. Key areas of focus include tax policies and proposed tariffs on Chinese goods and other imports, which could fuel inflation and affect corporate profitability. My investment strategy is to remain adaptable, aligning with market trends and making adjustments as needed when the time is right. [undefined][undefined][undefined]

  • Tailgunner75 : Show me on the doll where Drumpf hurt you, Kevin
Project 2025 is here. And Nothing Can Stop What Is Coming
    Nothing
    Cope&Seethe, comrade

  • Kevin Matte : This week I added Cannabis, Uranium and Real Estate Leveraged ETF !! and AMDL

  • 晴瓦林 : I didn't care too much about mag 7 aside from their price impact on indices. So, Trump is gonna be in the office soon. The hype is giving us another bull run. I'm prepared to ride on it by buying Bitcoins, and calls on NDX or Tesla, and take profit once it's over.

  • Aaron Invests (AI) : My choices when it comes to Tech earnings are now based on technicals. Not that I am saying ignore the news however, Technical analysis recently had helped me a lot! 🚀 🚀 🚀 Especially when my decision is to let openAI model crunch the numbers and calculate the probability. It gives me an informed decision. [undefined]

Bear in mind it is still at an experimental stage. If it does work, I will share my results with everyone about this matter. 🥂

Trump taking office wise? No change of plans. The likelihood is that sentiments are following suit on $Crypto (LIST20010.US)$ related policy, $Semiconductors (LIST20077.US)$ and possibly energy like $Nuclear Power (LIST2583.US)$ and $Uranium (LIST2430.US)$ related.

Hope my insights helped with your own decision. 🥂

  • Aaron Invests (AI) LittleSoldier : I am reminded that phrase " Don't ask a barber whether you need a haircut?" by Warren Buffett
