"Vanguard's" Next CEO Picked from BlackRock's Former Executives

Salim Ramji, the former head of $Blackrock(BLK.US)$ 's iShares and Index Investments, will take over as CEO of the asset management giant $American Vanguard(AVD.US)$ in July. This marks the first time in Vanguard's 50-year history that the company has appointed a CEO from outside the company. 🚀

Moreover, the new CEO, Ramji, is known for being "crypto-friendly." In contrast, Vanguard's previous stance was to stay far away from the crypto world, even avoiding spot Bitcoin ETFs. 🤔
Outside speculation suggests that the rapid appointment of the new CEO may also mean that Vanguard will accelerate its layout in the field of cryptocurrency assets. 👀
Vanguard Missed Out on the Bitcoin Bull Market
It's worth mentioning that Ramji has a strong passion for investing in cryptocurrency assets. At BlackRock, he directly pushed for the listing of its Bitcoin spot ETF and openly expressed his interest in cryptocurrency assets in public interviews.
However, Vanguard's previous attitude towards cryptocurrencies has always been to stay away. As the world's second-largest asset management company, Vanguard completely missed out on this round of crypto bull market after the regulatory easing of Bitcoin spot ETFs.
The company had previously emphasized that due to its inconsistency with investment philosophy, Vanguard would not create or provide Bitcoin ETFs, nor would it provide related ETF products issued by other issuers on its trading platform. This decision was based on Vanguard's risk aversion philosophy and motivation to protect investors.
However, in February, Vanguard unexpectedly announced that Tim Buckley, who had been CEO for 33 years, would step down. Vanguard said the departure was Buckley's personal decision, but this didn't stop some people from speculating about other reasons. Some analysts pointed out that Buckley's departure was due to him causing Vanguard to miss out on the "celebration feast" of Bitcoin spot ETFs.
