US Department of Commerce continues investigation into Applied's shipment of semiconductor manufacturing equipment to Chinese customers

The U.S. Department of Commerce is continuing investigations into shipments of Applied Materials, the largest US semiconductor manufacturing equipment company, to Chinese customers. It is part of a broad effort to ensure the effectiveness of even stricter trade regulations with China.
　　Applied is a quarterly report submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) this week, and it was disclosed that it received a subpoena in May from the Department of Commerce's Industrial Security Bureau. A subpoena was also received from the same bureau in November last year.
