ASML Outlook Disappoints: What's Your Next Move?
$Dow Jones Industrial Average (.DJI.US)$ Mixed session. Markets basically flat as US-Iran talks stumbled over the weekend. Oil back above $100. Ceasefire optimism fading.
The $S&P 500 Index (.SPX.US)$ ran straight into a wall at the 6,800 to 6,900 zone and stalled. Markets are at a decision point. Either earnings push us through this week or we get another pullback first.
What to watch this week
Bank earnings kick off tomorrow. $JPMorgan (JPM.US)$ , $Goldman Sachs (GS.US)$ , $Citigroup (C.US)$ , $Bank of America (BAC.US)$ , $Morgan Stanley (MS.US)$ all reporting. If banks disappoint it raises questions about the economy. If they deliver, markets breathe easier.
But the two most important reports this week are $ASML Holding (ASML.US)$ on Wednesday and $Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM.US)$ on Thursday. These tell us whether the AI chip buildout is still accelerating. If TSMC beats and raises guidance, that's the catalyst markets are waiting for.
Quick stock notes
$Microsoft (MSFT.US)$ quietly strong tonight +2.49%. ServiceNow +6.70%. AI software names doing well.
$Apple (AAPL.US)$ -1.17%. Still under pressure from China and tariff concerns.
$VanEck Semiconductor ETF (SMH.US)$ holding up despite the macro noise. The AI story isn't broken.
Big week ahead. Let the earnings speak before making any moves.
