The trading time for US stocks is usually 390 minutes, but only the last 10 minutes may be becoming important for the market.
According to data compiled by Best Ex Research, which develops algorithmic trading, about one-third of the total is executed in the last 10 minutes in stock trading of stocks using the S&P 500 stock price index. This ratio is up from 27% in 2021.
In Europe, where similar patterns can be seen, it has been suggested that this trend may impair liquidity and distort prices.
