$Tesla (TSLA.US)$ What confuses me is that Tesla, which has the world's largest fleet collecting real-world data, the largest training center, and has physically achieved Level 4 autonomous driving, still faces disbelief from many who would rather believe in companies without the largest fleet or biggest training centers achieving Level 4 autonomy.
Achieving Level 4 autonomous driving on paper is meaningless; what matters most is physically achieving it. Waymo, on the other hand, is the company that claims Level 4 on paper but performs poorly in real-world physical driving.

  • Rob all your money : blind by hatred. they just blanket hate anything to do with elon.

  • 75968743 : You think Waymo's autonomous driving is useless on paper, but the reality is that at this moment, Waymo has a wider operational range, a larger fleet, and a longer track record than Tesla. The world doesn’t run based on personal imagination. Just like in your previous post, you believe Tesla’s robots will eventually enter every household and have an edge over competitors—but that’s meaningless right now. The reality is that Tesla hasn’t produced a truly usable robot; hardware mass production is not happening, and the software running inside the robot is far from ready. What people claim about AI enabling autonomous operation is actually operated by humans remotely during demonstrations. Plus, you haven’t considered whether, even if they do manage to build it, every household would immediately place an order for one.
Elon Musk is someone who makes too many promises but delivers too little. Even when he achieves some of his stated goals, the timelines are usually far behind schedule. Don’t buy stocks based on fantasies about a company, otherwise, when you lose money, you won’t even know what went wrong.

  • 长期持有 OP 75968743 : During the major blackout in SF, Waymo completely malfunctioned. If what you said is true, how could that have happened? Not to mention it was already rated as Level 4 autonomous driving. Afterwards, in broad daylight, Waymo was also found entering an area it shouldn't and then got stuck there.
On the other hand, Tesla's autonomous driving has absolutely no such issue. So far, no one has reported Tesla getting stuck on the road after enabling its autonomous driving feature when encountering problems.
This is what I mean—although Waymo entered the autonomous driving business earlier than Tesla, their fleet size is nowhere near as large as Tesla’s user base.
What I’m saying isn’t based on imagination but on objective facts and clear numbers: Tesla collects data from a vast user base (millions), which indeed surpasses the amount gathered by Waymo’s fleet of just a few thousand vehicles.

  • 长期持有 OP Rob all your money : Indeed

  • 75968743 长期持有 OP : Both Tesla and Waymo have had accidents, with Tesla even causing fatalities. Fundamentally, neither technology is perfect. One thing is certain: as time progresses, both will gradually improve, and other manufacturers may follow suit. Buffett once said that technology essentially has no barriers. In the future, when every car manufacturer has autonomous driving capabilities, autonomous ride-hailing will become a price war. After all, there’s no significant experiential difference between them, and businesses fighting on price won’t make money.
