Tesla's Mr. Musk announces expansion of supercharger business - policy change?
It shows their intention to invest “well over” 500 million dollars this year.
Almost everyone in the same department was cut last week, and it was announced that the pace of business expansion would slow down.
Elon Musk, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer US Tesla, has stated that it is planning to expand the company's quick charger “supercharger” network. Just about a week ago, almost all of the approximately 500 personnel in the same department had been cut.
Mr. Musk posted on X (old Twitter) that Tesla intends to invest 500 million dollars (about 77.8 billion yen) in “well over” the expansion of the NetWork this year. Ten days ago, a policy was indicated to slow down the pace of network expansion and focus on operating hours and existing charger locations.
After reducing almost everyone on the same team, including the senior director, at the end of last month, Mr. Musk has not disclosed details on how he will operate this charging business. The move at the end of last month shocked both Tesla customers and other automakers that have begun using the same charging network.
