Taiwan Semiconductor Options Fly Alongside Stock Volume
$Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM.US)$climbed Thursday, sending options volume on the stock to the top 11 place in the entire U.S. Market. alongside the entire Semiconductor sector tracked by moomoo after$NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$, the AI giant and market bellwether reported an earnings beat and 10-1 stock split. Nvidia climbed 10%, and over $1,000/share, while Semiconductors climbed more than 4%.
Within the TSM options chain, one contract stood out, the One Day to Expiration $160 Call that saw 12k contracts change hands. The contract gives holds the right to buy TSM at $160/share, for the asking price of 30C/share for 100 shares. Despite the volume, the price of the contract has declined, as the strike price remained above the underlying trading price.
Overall, investors traded 221K option contracts Thursday, compared to 17M shares for about $2B in capital for TSMC.
